The SVTL coupling features a design with self-supporting bearing assemblies and a tunnel housing. The rotating components are enclosed within a sealed, oil-tight housing. Flexible couplings transmit torque between the electric motor and the driven machine through the variable speed fluid coupling. The oil reservoir is integrated into the housing, while the oil pump is mechanically driven by the input shaft. The shafts are equipped with rolling bearings lubricated by a mechanically driven lubricating oil pump integrated into the variable speed fluid coupling.
The standard SVTL design uses a common oil cooler for both operating oil and lubricating oil. For higher-capacity machines, two separate cooling circuits are employed: one for the operating oil and the other for the lubricating oil.
